Publications of the CRA
The Cumbrian Railways Association is proud of its history as a publisher of works on the railways of Cumbria. This dates back to its first book, The Coniston Railway, published in 1985 (and subsequently revised and greatly extended in 2005). These works cover all aspects of the history of Cumbria's railways: branch lines, community and their railways, locomotives, railwaymen serving in the Great War and most recently photographic albums from the Association's historic photograph collections. Other pages in this section list those CRA Publications available from ourselves and the book trade, as well as those no longer available from the CRA. Bookshops throughout Cumbria, elsewhere in the UK and on-line are able to obtain our current publications and many independent second-hand book sellers will have second-hand copies of the others.
If you have an idea for a Cumbrian railway book, or are have one already in preparation please feel free to contact our Editor. The CRA is most interested in helping you see your work in print, especially if it seems unlikely to be considered by the mainstream press.
We invite you to look at our In Stock web page for news of our latest and other current publications and at our Older publications web page for items published but no longer held in the Association’s stock.
